SuperSport United FC has announced an exciting partnership with Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) to launch the TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies FC team. This historic merger comes after SuperSport United and TUT have partnered for the club to play all the 2023/24 first team and DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) matches at the University. The team, affectionately known as #RedArmy, was founded in 2009 as the high-performance ladies’ team for TUT. TUT Ladies FC currently plays in the SAFA National Women’s League: Hollywoodbets Super League, where they finished in second position since its inception in 2019-2020 season and 2021. SuperSport United CEO, Stanley Matthews, is excited about this historic moment, highlighting the club's 25-year history with TUT. The partnership aims to produce future-ready graduates, performing brilliantly in both sport and academics. And with this solid foundation, SuperSport United is proud to partner with TUT in their maiden voyage into Women’s Football. The HUAWEI WATCH FIT SE, featuring ground-breaking technology, was presented to empower the footballers with cutting-edge features for a healthier life. Tshwane University of Technology’s Executive Director for SAED, Dr Shadrack Nthangeni, says the University is extremely proud and excited about the momentous partnership. But what's significant is the role of Women’s football, not just locally but globally. Football is a powerful means of enabling women to fulfil their potential both in sport and in society. So, SuperSport United FC and TUT are committed to making a positive impact. The partnership will also see the launch of the HUAWEI WATCH 4, HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 SE, and HUAWEI Band 8. With this partnership, SuperSport United FC is set to make a significant impact in women's football in South Africa.
